    A Holiday Event in Elizabeth

It’s the time of year when we begin to think about preparing the Thanksgiving meal, shopping for Christmas gifts, and finding the perfect New Year’s get-together. As we spend our days in a rush, it’s nice to think of the things that make the holidays special. Towns and communities throughout Douglas County are hosting events that celebrate the nostalgia and traditions of this time of the year.  Here’s what’s going on in Elizabeth.

Join residents for the Elizabeth Christmas Festival, held at the Holly Acres Nursery and Tree Farm. This event not only provides the perfect opportunity to purchase a live Christmas tree, but visitors can participate in fun, holiday-themed activities. Festivities include visits with Santa, a petting zoo, camel rides, pony rides, zebra rides, a barrel train, face painting, crafts with Santa’s elves, food and wine tasting for the adults, and carriage rides with Santa! This free event runs from 10am-4pm on November 28th.
